They Grow So Fast, Sniffle

Posted by jefferson on Mar 22, 2012 in Site News | 9 comments

What an amazing week we have had here at See Debt Run!  This week, we had our site’s 2 month anniversary and it didn’t even complain that I forgot to buy flowers!  The site has really been picking up momentum in an intimidatingly fast manner.  We truly appreciate all of the encouragement and comments that we get from our readers, and it really means a lot to us that you take the time to read and give feedback to what Michelle and I have been writing.  Yes, even your critical, but helpful and insightful, comments are appreciated.

This week, one of our posts, “What If You Find Out Your Co-Workers Are Making More Than You” was featured on some of the best sites on the internet.  These three mentions drove over 9000 hits worth of traffic to our site on Monday and Tuesday of this week, which is very exciting, especially since they weren’t all just my mom!  Only 2 months old and over 9000 hits in two days?!  My daughter couldn’t even hold her head up at 2 months old!  *shoots a pitiful look at adorable 8-month-old*

In addition to this, See Debt Run surged past the 200,000 Alexa rating milestone.  If you’re not sure what the heck an Alexa rating is, Alexa is a universal site that measures traffic and website popularity and ranks the pages accordingly.  For example, Google holds steady at #1.  The fact that we are around 158,000 may not seem like much to you, but we are proud of this as we started out around 10,000,000!

Last but not least, we also recently passed the 500 Twitter followers milestone.  I enjoy interacting with folks on Twitter quite a bit, so be sure to stop in and say hello to us at @SeeDebtRun.

Having always been a huge nerd, I’m slightly intimidated by this new found popularity.  If you were to ask my wife, I’m sure she’d confirm that I’m still a huge nerd, but I am very flattered by all the love our little baby blog has been shown recently.  We will continue to feed it and nurture it, and we might even buy it a new outfit (read: graphics!) We hope that you will continue to stop by and say “Hi.”  Or “You suck.”  Or “What are you talking about?” If you want to subscribe to our posts, I have included a link at the bottom of this post.  Want to get your See Debt Run fix even easier?  I will personally email you each and every new post.  (There’s a button for that, too.)

Thanks, Nell! You’re a great writer, so I know your blog will grow like a weed! How do I get into the “housewife empire” btw? I’m a stay-at-home-mom, which sounds like I wear baby puke and no shoes (might be true…), but when you say “empire,” it makes it sound kind of bad-ass. ;) I need an empire…rawr.

That is really awesome! I am not surprised though, you’ve got some great content going on and a totally down-to-earth approach. Congratulations on your two-month, and here’s to many more!

Congratulations! You are obviously grateful for the love bestowed upon you by your loyal readers. However, you should give yourself much of the credit for creating such a wonderfully informative and entertaining blog, as well as showing much kindness to those who have arrived to become part of your SeeDebtRun family. I want to extend my personal thanks for what you’ve have done for my blog. Congrats once again, and continued success.
