Yakezie Carnival – Arachnophobia Edition

Posted by jefferson on Jun 17, 2012 in Site News | 10 comments

When my wife and I started writing about our financial goals and our experiences working towards obtaining them, we didn’t know if we could find an audience for our articles.  We both loved to write and had been looking for an outlet, and as such we started See Debt Run on a cold January day, and have had a wonderful time growing the site ever since.  A big factor in our site’s growth has been our participation in the wonderful community of Financial Bloggers known as Yakezie.  The  people that we have met and the things that we have learned through Yakezie, have had a huge impact on us and on this site.

With all of that said, we have always wanted to host the Yakezie Carnival, to share the best articles of the week from the multitude of other Yakezie Members and Challengers out there.  We requested this honor a few months ago, and finally this week– it was our turn.  I must admit though, at the time that I was putting this list together, my skin was absolutely crawling.  I couldn’t stop thinking about a recent situation where I was in a room with dozens spiders darting up and down the walls and all over everything.  As such, I dedicate this week’s Yakezie Carnival to everyone’s favorite eight-legged friend.

I hate spiders! I don’t mind killing them, but the thought of them crawling on me is something I can’t really handle.

The spiders have been terrible out here too this year! With the mild winter there are TONS of spiders having babies and I’ve killed at least 4 this Spring/Summer where all of their babies were on the momma spider’s back (unbeknownst to me), so when I step on them ALL of the babies jump all over the place. It’s like a little dust cloud explodes. Whoops.

Thanks for including me by the way!
