One of my favorite free summer activities is going to see an outdoor movie. They’ve become really popular now – there are a few companies that rent inflatable screens, and they can set them up anywhere. The movies are usually sponsored by local businesses, and people just show up with blankets/chairs and enjoy the movie.

6 months! Nice work. Amazing progress on your blog, very impressive. It’s been awesome to follow you guys the past few months.

A fun idea is to grab some thai food, a bottle of (inexpensive) white wine, find your favorite beach and watch the sunset. My wife and I did this and it was awesome. But, what made it memorable is that we didn’t get forks with our food……so we had to eat it by hand. Best Thai food I ever had :)

Estate auctions–cost nothing to attend, have to be very careful to set limits if you do decide to bid on something, but can get some really great bargains. Several years ago, picked up a washer and dryer set for my daughter for $20–they looked bad (needed cleaning) and the lid was loose, but they lasted for 7 years for her. She just recently got a 1 yr old Maytag set (front loader w/stands) for only $600 for the set.
